Dwayne Johson has a twin patrolling the streets of Morgan County, Alabama. A local police officer is constantly mistaken for “The Rock,” and he says “he’s flattered.”
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office posted a picture of their celebrity on Facebook. And the resemblance truly is uncanny.
Johnson’s doppelganger is Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields. After the office posted a picture of Fields on their page last week, a local fan made it a point to meet the look-alike.
“This gentleman recently ran into Sgt. Mason and informed him he wanted to meet our Deputy that people say looks like ‘The Rock,'” they posted. “Sgt. Mason passed that along, and Lieutenant Fields was happy to swing by the Hartselle Wal-mart to see him. Tyler is one of their many hard workers, and it was great to meet him and some of his coworkers!”
Some commenters aren’t so sure Fields isn’t actually The Rock in disguise. “My son keeps arguing with me that he is indeed The Rock lol,” someone wrote. “Well come to think of it, we’ve never seen both of them in the same place at the same time,” someone replied.
But we can assure you that he really isn’t The Rock. Eric Fields is a 37-year-old officer who has been with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office for 17 years. With hard work, he’s moved himself up the ranks throughout his career.
He said his resemblance to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been a “running joke” for years. “I go along with it,” he said. “It’s humorous. It’s flattering. It could be worse people, I guess.”
After meeting with Tyler, Fields said, “The blessing was really for me because he had a spirit that was just such a great person to meet. He’s the real celebrity. Everybody knew him and loved him,” He ended by saying, “I wish the actual Rock could meet this kid. He’s the hometown hero.”
Garth Brooks to Responds to The Rock Singing ‘Much Too Young (to Feel This Old)’
Garth Brooks went live with The Rock to send a message to a struggling fan.
On Facebook Live, Brooks called The Rock and asked him to help raise the spirits of a fan who is battling breast cancer. In the video, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, covers a Garth Brooks hit.
“This one goes out to a strong woman named Melissa, AKA Missy. This is a big surprise for you. I know you are shocked to see DJ here,” he began. Missy has been battling stage IV cancer for six years, and the two wanted to send her some encouragement.
“Keep fighting and keep staying strong, Missy. I also know you are Garth Brooks’ biggest fan. Garth Brooks is a buddy of mine, and you know I love my country music.”
The Rock then started singing his rendition of Much Too Young (to Feel This Old). And while he didn’t exactly hit all the notes—and even stopped to say “I’m singing in keys that don’t exist” mid-ballad—The sentiment was still touching.
Before Brooks took over to sing the song himself, he reminded his fan that she’s “got some friends in high places.”
