On Tuesday (August 17th) pop songstress Christina Aguilera took to her Instagram account for a special tribute to her daughter, Summer Rain, on her seventh birthday.

“Happy 7th birthday my sweet, thoughtful, funny, creative, soulful, vibrant spirit,” the What A Girl Wants hitmaker begins the post. “Time moves too fast but every year I’m so in awe of the beautiful human you are and continue to grow to be!”

Christina Aguilera then shares that Summer Rain is loved by all around her and inspires her to see the world brighter because of her and the special energy she radiates. “Mommy loves you so much!”

Summer Rain is the daughter of Christina Aguilera and her fiancé, Matthew Rutler. The couple has been together since 2010. She also has a son, 13-year-old Max Liron Bratman, with her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman, whom she was married to from 2005 until 2011.

Christina Aguilera Opens Up About How Her Dark Past Helped Shape Her Into The Mother She Is

In a 2015 interview with Today, Christina Aguilera opened up about her dark past with domestic violence and how it helped shape her into the person she is. “For me, I got my strength from the darker times in my life and they’ve propelled me forward.”

Christina Aguilera further revealed that she made a decision when she was younger to never put herself in a situation where she would feel helpless to a man. She would also be able to make money for herself and her future children so they wouldn’t suffer at the hands of abuse.

“Now, I’m a mother and it’s very important to me to provide them with an environment to feel safe and loved,” Christina proclaimed. “I want to give my children the gift of loving music without having to use it as an escape. Like I had to.”

Christina Aguilera Talks Motherhood Struggles

Although she loves her children, Christina Aguilera absolutely admits that having self-care time and time away is very important to mothers. “We literally give so much of ourselves, it’s important to make [some time] to be able to find a creative release or pampering release.”

Christina also admits that everyone has their breaking points and it’s hard sometimes to find patients as well as energy when exhausted. “It’s a really hard juggling act for working mothers and mothers who stay home. While yoga is not right for everyone, find a specific philosophy or type of release that speaks to you.”

Christina goes on to add that everyone really just needs to find their own specific outlet. “But especially a woman because our whole force of being is to give life.”
