Ree Drummond is spilling all the details on her weight loss journey. Recently, the Food Network’s “Pioneer Woman” confessed that she’d lost a total of 38 pounds throughout 2021. Now, her impressed fans want to know all the details as to how she lost all that weight.
Over the weekend, Drummond posted a weight-loss update to her fans via TikTok and her Instagram Story. She revealed that she decided to begin her weight loss journey amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Drummond spoke candidly and admitted to her followers that she “can’t get away from food, and I love to eat.” She later confessed that those feelings only grew worse as the pandemic ramped up.
She also added that “it crept up on me through the years, especially during COVID,” and so “starting in January, I decided to get busy and lose some weight.”
The Food Network star went on to explain how exactly she lost nearly 40 pounds. According to the 52-year-old, there were “no gimmicks at all.”
Keeping it simple, she “cut calories, exercised more, lifted a lot of weights.” While Drummond admitted that she looks “better” following her weight loss, to her, the most significant difference, and the thing that “really counts,” is the fact that she also feels “so much better.”

Drummond also revealed the “key” to her weight loss in the caption for the post, sharing that “moving more and building muscle has been the key for me!”
Although she’s on a journey to health and wellness, Drummond says she still allows herself to enjoy some of her favorite foods. Admitting that she “Still love fries, though.”
In the comments section of the post, she garnered a high amount of support from her followers. One user wrote, “Us country mamas gotta keep our energy up!” That same user wrote that they were “happy” that Drummond is “feeling better,” but wrote that she has “always looked amazing!”
