Ree Drummond’s Husband And Nephew Were In A Life-Threatening Accident Last Month
Just over a month ago, Caleb and his uncle, Ladd (Ree Drummond’s husband) were in a life-threatening accident. Both Ladd and Caleb were operating separate fire trucks when they collided head-first. The two were attempting to put out a raging fire on their Oklahoma ranch when they crashed. Reportedly, Caleb wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was thrown about 70 feet from the truck. Both Caleb and Labb spent several days in the hospital. Luckily, they returned home to recover. Mid-March Ree Drummond posted an update about her family on her blog. She wrote about the injuries both her husband and nephew sustained.
“Caleb and Ladd are going to be okay. Caleb broke some ribs, had a pretty bad concussion, and a few other injuries that will heal. Ladd broke his neck in two places—and evidently, one of the two fractures was very close to being catastrophic. Have I mentioned that cowboys don’t like to admit they’re hurt?” said Drummond. “Doctors transferred Ladd to Tulsa and had surgery to stabilize one of the fractures. Thanks to some rods and other hardware, it’s fixed now and the danger is over. He will have to wear a neck brace for several weeks to let the other fracture heal.”
Ree Drummond has not yet released any statements about her nephew’s recent arrest.
