‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Posts Sweet Snap With Son Bryce Amid ‘500 Mile Drive to Texas and Back’

“Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond officially dropped off her oldest son Bryce at college yesterday, which is a hard goodbye for any parent.

But Drummond sent him off with a sweet pic on Instagram and a hilarious caption. “2 trips 2 hours apart to 2 different Walmart locations plus 2 hours of organizing and 2 iced coffees was all it took to get Bryce’s kitchen all set up and stocked yesterday,” Drummond said.

The “Pioneer Woman” wrapped up her message with a reference to her long road trip and a little nudge at herself. “(Oh, and a 500-mile drive to Texas and back.) I guess it’s that important to me for my child to be able to make an egg… I love you, my son!”

Making eggs is a basic rule of thumb for any college student, but especially the son of a Food Network star. Should we be surprised that ‘The Pioneer Woman” wanted to go all out for Bryce’s kitchen?

Drummond’s son will play football for the University of North Texas Mean Green. He was a quarterback at the family’s local high school in Pawhuska, Oklahoma for years. Bryce actually graduated high school earlier, in the winter, so he could head down to Denton, Texas, this spring.

While Pawhuska sits on the northeast border of Oklahoma, closer to Kansas, Denton rests just northwest of Dallas, by the southern Oklahoma border. The trip for the “Pioneer Woman” and her son probably took at least five hours (and, apparently, 500 miles).

“Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond and Daughter Paige Do Q&A to Pass Time on Roadtrip

Luckily for the “Pioneer Woman,” she had her youngest daughter Paige to help pass time on the five-hour road trip. Paige headed down to Denton with her brother and mother to help Bryce move in. Or, as Paige clarified, “I came for moral support.”

Paige opened up her Instagram stories for questions from fans during the trip. You could ask Ree and her daughter anything, from their favorite movie to the best road trip song to whether they’d rather have “toes for fingers or fingers for toes.”

We found out that “The Godfather” is Ree’s favorite movie, while Paige loves the 2005 version of “Pride and Prejudice” (a truly iconic film). The “Pioneer Woman” loves to listen to The Eagles’ 1971 bop “Take It Easy” on road trips. While Ladd is Ree’s “boyfriend,” her celebrity crushes are Denzel Washington and Kevin Costner.

In a surprisingly honest move, when asked who her favorite child is, Ree didn’t hesitate to say Todd. Paige’s jaw dropped, and she said to the phone camera, “That is literally so rude.”

The “Pioneer Woman” made it up to Paige later by saying that she was the best cook out of all the kids.
