Even famous people have their fanboy and fangirl moments. Ree Drummond, of “The Pioneer Woman” fame, recently shared details about a moment she had with another famous chef.
According to PopCulture, Drummond wrote a letter to Ina Garten – The Barefoot Contessa – herself. This fan letter was written in 2003 – eight years before Drummond had her own show on The Food Network. Garten’s television series also appears on that same network.
In 2003, Drummond was focused on her popular food blog. These days, the focus is on her show, but she still posts in her blog. It was during May that she was online and recounted her fangirl moment.
“Anyway, Barefoot Contessa. I love her,” “The Pioneer Woman” said. “I even wrote her a fan email once, probably around 2003, outlining in detail the love I feel for both her and her beautiful recipes.”
Next, Drummond jokes that her letter led Garten to take drastic action.
“She filed a restraining order. Not really,” Drummond joked. “She wrote me back. Actually, her secretary wrote me back, but I’m sure Barefoot Contessa told her to. I just know it!”
The explanation Drummond gives for why she got a response from Garten is also pretty hilarious.
“Barefoot Contessa probably said, “That one girl? The one who wrote me a nine page letter about how my standing rib roast and sundried tomato pasta salad inspire her more than Mozart ever did? Better drop her a note before she shows up on my front porch,” Drummond joked. “Fine, then. Let’s just make the cake, shall we? (I love you, Barefoot Contessa. See you soon!)”
Of course, “The Pioneer Woman” star shared a recipe with this blog post from May. And, of course, it was one of Ina Garten’s very own. It’s an adorable flag cake from Garten’s cookbook, “Barefoot Contessa Family Style.” Drummond said this is her “favorite” Barefoot Contessa cookbook.
‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Meets Her Own Devoted Fan
Thanks to her success as “The Pioneer Woman,” Ree Drummond – like Ina Garten – has her own share of devoted fans. Recently, Drummond had the chance to meet a fan, Remy Germinario, who has become famous for impersonating her on TikTok.
“I have a fun story. There’s a cute fella on TikTok named Remy,” Drummond recently shared on Instagram.
“I would watch his PW parodies with (my son) Todd and we’d crack up together because they are so spot-on in many cases,” “The Pioneer Woman” also posted. “Remy and I wound up communicating, and long story short, he took a road trip last week, stopped in Pawhuska, and we got to meet!”
Drummond also posted a photo of her with Remy, as well as a video they made together.
