The Pioneer Woman star, Ree Drummond, posted an emotional photo to her Instagram Story on Saturday of her son Bryce getting ready to leave for his first year at college.
Anne Marie “Ree” Drummond, 52, is a blogger, author, food writer, photographer, and television personality. She lives on a working ranch outside of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. In February 2010, she was listed as No. 22 on Forbes’ Top 25 Web Celebrities.
In one of the moving images, her son Bryce, 18, is seen standing outside with his brother Todd, 16, and foster brother, Jamar, 18. He is shown hugging Jamar goodbye while Todd stands looking on behind them.
“Bryce is heading to college today 😢,” Drummond captions the emotional photo. “Just said bye to his brothers 😭😭😭.”
Drummond jokes at the bottom of the post, “I’ll be okay in 2085.” Bryce is the first of her children to leave for college.
Son of Ree Drummond to Play Football at University of North Texas
Meanwhile, according to her blog, Drummond says that her son will be playing football at the University of North Texas. The 18-year-old graduated high school a semester early in addition to taking college courses over the summer and fall to meet his high school requirements to graduate.
“Bryce is really happy, and Ladd and I couldn’t be more excited for Bryce that he’ll be able to continue playing football—and we’re so proud of him for all the hard work that got him there,” the proud mom wrote last month. “Excuse me while I go cry for four hundred years.”
She retweeted the video below back in December:
The Food Network star previously shared some of her son’s senior pictures on Instagram in July as he got ready for his senior year of high school.
“My kid is gearing up for his senior year. I can’t believe he’s not a little blonde pookie head anymore,” Drummond wrote at the time. “I guess I’ll have to settle for big blonde pookie head. Proud of you, Bryce! Keep workin’, keep growin’, keep the faith.”
And in September, Drummond made a celebratory Instagram post for Bryce’s 18th birthday. She highlighted just how quickly he grew up in front of her. The cookbook author also has two daughters, Alex, 23, and Paige, 21.
“Before he was a quarterback, he was a cowboy,” Drummond wrote, sharing throwback photos of Bryce on the family’s Pawhuska, Oklahoma ranch. “Can’t believe he’s 18…it went by so ridiculously fast. His dimples are still the death of me. 😂 Happy birthday, Bryce! Love you, son.”
