Ree Drummond has made a name for herself by cooking delicious and hearty farm-style meals on her The Food Network show, “The Pioneer Woman.”
Since then, she has continued to make an entire franchise off her talent in the kitchen. From appearances on shows like “Good Morning America,” “Today Show,” and “The Chew” to also writing several successful cookbooks.
She also owns a bed and breakfast called “The Boarding House” and has her own line of food and cooking-related products on the market.
Ree Drummond Weight Loss Journey
Food is Ree Drummond’s passion and a major part of her lasting legacy. However, she has also recently opened up about her journey with weight loss and health.
According to her blog post, Drummond has been making some changes to her diet and exercise routine over the last few months. As a result, she has lost about 43 pounds. Drummond explained how her health was making her feel sluggish, which was an indicator that maybe she needed to make a change.
“What motivated me the most was just wanting to feel better and have more energy. In January, just before I bit the bullet and took the leap, I was tired, puffy, and desperate…and I knew I shouldn’t be feeling that way,” Drummond wrote.
Although health and weight loss are different for everyone, Drummond opened up about her successes hoping it may inspire other people. She shared that she has not had any success in the past with fad diets or intermittent fasting. Even specifically designed weight loss programs and personal trainers were never the right fit for her.
Specific Strategies for Drummond
This time, Drummond focused on the number of calories she was intaking and was more active. The calorie deficit and the exercise helped her slowly lose weight.
“I’d gotten so accustomed to excusing myself from working out because of my work schedule or travel schedule … but during the past few months, I just chose to be late on a deadline or put off work until the next day so that exercise could happen,” Drummond wrote.
Ree Drummond is also active on TikTok where she calls herself the “Wife of cowboy. Mother of four. Host of cooking show. Lover of butter.” Drummond is married to her husband, Ladd, and the two have four kids together.
She shared her journey with her over 1 million followers there as well. She said, “I look better, but I feel so much better. That’s what really counts.”
According to Women’s Health Magazine, there are several takeaways from Drummond’s weight loss journey that are worth pointing out. As mentioned before, Drummond maintained a healthy calorie deficit and made working out a priority in her daily life.
However, it was more than just those two factors. She also weighed her food, focused on strength training, ate more protein, consumed less sugar, and completely cut out alcohol.
