Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond has always had an Outsider mentality and it looks like she is enjoying her time in the great outdoors.
We all know and love Ree Drummond as one of the faces of The Food Network. She is no doubt a woman of many talents. She’s a blogger, author, food writer, photographer, and popular television personality. Most people know her for her blog, The Pioneer Woman, which follows Drummond’s daily life on her ranch outside of Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
But it turns out that Drummond is a big fan of escaping to the wilderness. As a matter of fact, she and her husband Ladd planned a dream getaway out to the woods of Colorado. And after a series of setbacks had stopped them from following through before, they are finally enjoying their well-deserved vacation. The Pioneer Woman star took to social media on Tuesday afternoon to post a photo of the happy couple on a beautiful walking trail.
“My hair is on fire…just like our love. (Sorry 😂)” the 52-year-old captioned her latest photo.
‘Pioneer Woman’ Star Previously Had Plans to Vacation to Colorado
It’s a great thing to see Ree Drummond and her husband Ladd happy and healthy on their Colorado vacation. After all, they were forced to cancel the same trip earlier this year when Ladd had to undergo emergency neck surgery. He broke his neck back on March 14 after a truck collision involving their nephew Caleb. Both Ladd and Caleb were responding to a fire on the family farm.
“Ladd and I are on vacation in Colorado together! Can you tell I’m excited? I am. And let me explain a little bit more about my enthusiasm,” Drummond wrote in her latest blog post.
“We tried in March to make this same trip. I had already started packing, I was so excited about it. And okay, I hadn’t just started packing, I was pretty much packed and not quite waiting by the door since the trip was still two days away, but psychologically I was definitely waiting by the door. But then Ladd was in a terrible accident and we obviously weren’t able to go.”
As it happens, The Pioneer Woman star and her husband were actually forced to miss their previous three trips to Colorado. But, of course, that was the least of their concerns at the time.
“Missing our vacation was certainly at the bottom of our list of concerns at the time since Ladd was in the hospital recovering from his emergency neck surgery,” Drummond continued. “But as he started healing and getting better, we had to chuckle that the accident had happened right before our trip, because something had seemed to interrupt our being able to take three previously planned Colorado trips together.”
“We might have just given up on trying, but I’m stubborn and so is he. So, we decided to make plans one last time and see if we were able to make it happen.”
