Sad news from Priscilla Presley on Monday night as she announced that her mother, Anna Lillian Iversen, had passed away at 95 years old.

Presley, the one-time wife of Elvis Presley, made the announcement on Twitter to her millions of followers.

Anna Iversen would end up having her first name shortened to Ann. Reportedly, either she was called Ann or had her first name changed.

Ann Wagner gave birth to Priscilla Presley when she was 19 years old. She was married to Navy pilot James Wagner on Aug. 10, 1944. He was 23 years old when he married Ann Wagner.

James Wagner died in a plane crash while returning home. Priscilla was just six months old at the time. Her mother ultimately married Air Force officer Paul Beaulieu from Canada. After Ann Wagner married Beaulieu, he took over raising Priscilla and she eventually took his last name as hers.

Back in 2019, Priscilla Presley was looking to move her mother into Presley’s own home, according to a story in Closer Weekly.

“Priscilla is stepping up to take care of her ailing mother Ann,” an insider exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “She put Ann and her late father Paul’s house in Brentwood on the market and is in the process of moving her mother into her own home.”

Future Wife of Elvis Presley Had To Send Pink Envelopes For Reason

When Elvis Presley was so popular, fan mail would arrive left and right. But Priscilla Presley wanted her letters to stand out so she did something unique.

According to Biography.com, Priscilla would send pink envelopes to make it easier for Elvis to find them amongst the fan mail.

They originally met when Elvis was enlisted in the U.S. Army in West Germany in 1959. They crossed paths at a party at Elvis’ temporary home. He was immediately infatuated and tried to impress her by singing songs like “Are You Lonesome Tonight?”

Elvis Presley didn’t forget about Priscilla and he ended up calling her in 1962. The “King of Rock and Roll” asked her to come to Los Angeles. Ultimately, Priscilla Presley would become his wife as they married in 1967. They had one child, Lisa Marie, during their marriage.
