Priscilla Presley Has Social Media Mishap Celebrating Daughter Lisa Marie’s Birthday

Elvis Presley’s widow Priscilla Presley just wanted to wish her daughter a happy birthday. But social media proved trickier than she had bargained for.

Priscilla Presley Makes a Twitter Blunder

The 75-year-old tweeted out a happy birthday message to Lisa Marie, 53, on Monday. “Happy Birthday Yisa! Mom,” the message read. But then Priscilla tagged @LisaPresely, a parody account with just over 1,000 followers.

Fortunately, Priscilla quickly realized her mistake. “Oops! Wrong account,” she added, tagging @LisaPresley, who has over 160K followers.

As for her daughter Lisa Marie, she last used Twitter to pen a touching tribute to her late son Benjamin Keough, who died on July 12, 2020 at age 27 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Calabasas, California.

“My beautiful beautiful angel,” Presley wrote on Oct. 21, Keough’s birthday. “I worshipped the ground you walked on, on this earth and now in Heaven. My heart and soul went with you. The depth of the pain is suffocating and bottomless without you every moment of every day. I will never be the same. Please wait for me my love.”

Lisa Marie Turns 53

Lisa Marie may not feel much like celebrating her birthday this year, but she has plenty to be grateful for in her life.

While grandma was busy on Twitter, Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough posted an Instagram story featuring a picture of Lisa Marie with baby Riley and her father, Danny Keough. “Happy birthday, Mama,” Keough posted.

Lisa Marie also has 12-year-old twins, Harper and Finley, with ex-husband Michael Lockwood. A court gave them joint custody of the girls in December.

Last year, Lockwood had asked the court to yank primary custody of the twins from Lisa Marie. He said he feared that she would spiral into drug addiction after Benjamin’s death.

“Lisa Marie Presley’s son shot and killed himself in her home (Although she was not there at the time.) With all due sympathy and respect, this creates a new and unaddressed twofold problem: the safety of the children and the greater likelihood of [Lisa Marie] to relapse into drug and alcohol dependency,” the court filing said, Fox News reported.

Lisa Marie opened up about her previous opioid addiction for Harry Nelson’s 2019 book “The United States of Opioids: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain.” She said that opioid addiction can come on sudden and strong.

“I was recovering after the [2008] birth of my daughters, [Harper] Vivienne and Finley, when a doctor prescribed me opioids for pain,” she wrote in the foreword. “It only took a short-term prescription of opioids in the hospital for me to feel the need to keep taking them.”

But there have been no public signs that Lisa Marie has returned to opioid use.
