After her appearance at Memphis, Tennessee’s Graceland, Priscilla Presley was not done thanking fans for an amazing Elvis Week.
Priscilla Presley was married to the King of Rock and Roll for five years and still helps fans to remember the good times. She recently traveled back to Memphis to take part in the 44th annual “Elvis Week,” dedicated to remembering the King. As it is every year, the festivities took place at Elvis Presley’s former residence, Graceland. While attending the week-long event, Priscilla Presley held a couple of question and answer sessions. She enjoyed mingling with fans of her late husband, who passed in in 1977. Presley says this year’s Elvis Week was extra special due to all the first-timers that came this year. She says several of these first-time Elvis Week goers have already made a commitment to return next year.
Presley took to social media on Saturday to thank all of the fans for attending their year’s event. She also thanked everyone who had a part in making this year’s event an extra special one.
“What an Elvis Week!” Priscilla Presley says in her Saturday afternoon social media post. “I left Thursday afternoon and I am still resting. I am sure you are too. What great memories for us all. I loved all your questions and was happy to share some new Elvis stories. You are all dear to my heart and help in keeping Elvis’s legacy alive.”
Priscilla Presley Declares Elvis Week a Success
Following this tweet, Priscilla Presley sent out another social media post saying how thankful she is to see the large number of first-time Elvis Week visitors.
“First timers came to me and said they never knew how great visiting Graceland was,” she says in the post. “And that they’re coming back next year, for the 45th anniversary of celebrating Elvis’s life. I hope to see you there.”
Numerous fans took note of Priscilla Presley’s social media post and responded by thanking her for the hospitality. Each year, Elvis Week brings thousands upon thousands of Elvis fans back to Graceland. This year was no exception, even with the threat of COVID-19 still looming large in the southern United States.
“I would love to see Graceland,” a social media user writes. “It has always been a dream of mine to visit there for Elvis Week.”
Earlier this week, Priscilla Presley says the annual Elvis fan get-together ended way too soon. She says she is already looking forward to next year’s event, which will mark the 45th year of the big event.
“I had a great time with all the Founders, fans, employees at Elvis Week,” Priscilla Presley says. “It ended all too soon. Elvis has brought the best people together, who still support him, love him and are wholeheartedly dedicated to him. It has become…one big family. Next year is a big one, 45yrs!”
