Kodak Black is ready to repay the kindness he recently received from former President Trump. The pardoned rapper is out of prison after being sentenced to serve three years for a weapons charge. Now, Kodak Black is looking to help others in a less fortunate situation.
According to Fox News, the Florida native has offered to pay college tuition for the children of the two FBI agents that were shot last week.
The two agents, Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger, were killed during a raid in Sunrise, FL. The suspect, who was also killed, used a doorbell camera to watch and allegedly shoot the agents through a closed door as they approached the home.
Kodak Black Reaches Out, Wants to Help Children
This news caught Black’s attention. As a result, he sent a letter via his attorney, Bradford Cohen, to the FBI Miami Division. Black is offering to pay college tuition for the late agents’ children.
Cohen says in the letter that Kodak knows what it’s like to lose loved ones and grow up in a single-parent home. Furthermore, he wants to make sure the mourning families don’t ever have to worry about sending their kids to college, according to TMZ.
Additionally, reports say Cohen has a contact at the FBI Miami Division. This individual confirmed that the agents both have minor children. The publication reports that Alfin has a 3-year-old. Schwartzenberger left behind two children, a 4-year-old as well as a 9-year-old.
“Kodak has always put kids first in his charitable donations. He has a passion for making sure kids in crisis are supported financially and emotionally,” Cohen tells Fox News. “That being said, whatever he can do to help, he always offers his assistance. He gives his heartfelt condolences to the families and hopes his offer eases their pain.”
This isn’t the first time that Black opened his pocketbook to pay it forward. As a matter of fact, the 23-year-old donated $20,000 worth of toys during the holidays to children in his hometown of Broward County, FL.
According to TMZ, this is one of the major reasons why President Trump granted the rapper’s pardon. However, Kodak Black’s legal woes are far from over. He is still reportedly facing charges of sexual assault in South Carolina.
Moreover, prosecutors claim that in 2016 the rapper sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman after a concert. Black hasn’t spoken publicly about the accusations.
Rapper Thanks Trump on Twitter for Pardon
Since Twitter was Donald Trump’s main form of communication, Kodak Black took to the social media platform to thank the former president for commuting his sentence.
Black writes, “I Want To Thank The President @RealDonaldTrump For His Commitment To Justice Reform And Shortening My Sentence. I Also Want To Thank Everyone For Their Support And Love. It Means More Than You Will Ever Know. I Want To Continue Giving Back, Learning And Growing. @DanScavino“
Additionally, Black seems to be following through with his commitment made in the tweet. His pledge to pay for the children left behind after the FBI raid is his first step.
