Meet Juliet and Keith Giglio, the married screenwriters behind Reba McEntire’s upcoming holiday flick, Christmas in Tune.
This year, country singer Reba McEntire is starring alongside John Schneider in Lifetime’s Christmas in Tune. The movie, which is part of the network’s annual It’s A Wonderful Lifetime event, follows Belle, a marketing executive who is on the verge of losing her job. In an attempt to save her career, she asks her divorced parents to lend their voices to a charity Christmas concert. However, her parents, whose band used to be world-famous, have not spoken for years. But in the spirit of the holidays, they agree to reunite to help their daughter.
“Christmas In Tune is a really cute story about a man and a woman who were a duo singing partner and also married,” McEntire said in a press release. “The lady is more of the singer, but the man is more the writer, but they make a good duo. And so, things went a little south and they have a beautiful daughter, and things went south so they went their separate ways, and the daughter gets them back together for a military benefit at Christmas. And of course, neither one could turn her down.”
Christmas in Tune was written by Juliet and Keith Giglio, a Manlius, N.Y., couple with 30 years of marriage under their belts. Juliet and Keith have been writing and producing movies both together and separately for over two decades. Chrismas in Tune is the eighth screenplay that the couple has penned together.
Reba McEntire’s upcoming movie is particularly special to the duo because it encapsulates the magic of Christmas.
“It’s a real romance for us. It’s really about the wonderful things that can happen at Christmas,” Juliet shared with syracuse.com
Reba McEntire’s ‘Christmas in Tune’ is Juliet and Keith Giglio’s Fourth Lifetime Holiday Movie
Christmas in Tune isn’t the first Lifetime holiday flick that the Giglios have written though. In 2020, the two wrote Dear Christmas, which stars Melissa Joan Hart and Jason Priestley. And the two years prior they released A Very Nutty Christmas and Christmas Reservations, which also star Hart.
Some years back, The Giglios moved to New York State to spread their knowledge to future generations of screenwriters. So while they maintain their high-profile Hollywood career, Juliet and Keith are also professors at local universities. Keith teaches screenwriting at the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, and Juliet does the same at SUNY Oswego. The couple also wrote a textbook together in 2016 titled Proof of Concept: Writing the Short Script.
Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune premieres Friday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. on the Lifetime network.
