Riley Keough On Music and Singing

While Riley Keough loves to act, she has a soft spot for singing too. In an interview with Variety, Keough talks about her time singing background vocals for Orville Peck’s cover of “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga. The country rendition appears on Gaga’s 10th-anniversary edition rerelease of the iconic record. It all started when Keough went over to her best friend’s house, where her husband was producing the track. That is when he asked her to sing background vocals on the cover, and the rest is history.

“I didn’t really know what it was,” Keough shares. ” They said it was something for Lady Gaga but I really didn’t know just how big of a deal it was. I just sang the background on it and now it’s all over the news.”

The actress goes on and talks about her passion for country music, as well as the work her grandfather Elvis Presley did in the industry.

“There is something about country-folk music that is definitely somewhere in my blood,” Keough says. “I could listen to that kind of music all day.”
