‘SEAL Team’ Actor Justin Melnick Reportedly Injured in Helicopter Accident

by Evan Reier

On Sunday, it was confirmed that SEAL Team actor Justin Melnick was the man who fell out of a helicopter at the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch.

The Santa Clarita, California location is the setting for the filming of many movies, shows and commercials. According to Deadline, Melnick was filming the latter when he suffered the injury.

While SEAL Team is what most associate Justin Melnick with, he was indeed filming a commercial when the incident happened. That being said, he is apparently doing okay and doesn’t have any major injuries according to the report.

Further, local authorities disclosed that Melnick fell somewhere between 15 and 20 feet. Melnick fell as he was climbing a rope up into the helicopter.

After the fall, the actor was rushed to a local hospital. But as mentioned and as watch sergeant with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Aaron Jacob expressed, he was primarily fine.

“His injuries appear to be very minimal,” Jacob said.

Background on SEAL Team Actor Justin Melnick

Before gaining a recurring role on SEAL Team, Melnick was a real police officer in Indiana. These days, he’s better known as Brock Reynolds on the show.

His role was initially as a dog handler. But as the show carried on, he was properly added to the cast. His character works closely with Cerberus, a German Shepard who works with the team.

Interestingly enough, Cerberus is portrayed by Dita “The Hair Missile Dog,” who is actually Melnick’s K9 partner in real life.

Hopefully, Melnick’s recover quickly. If he’s got Dita by his side, it’ll at least make things easier.
