With the fifth season of SEAL Team set to premiere on October 10th, fans of the series are wondering what to expect in the upcoming season. This includes if the show will be addressing anything currently going on in the world.

In a recent Q&A email session with TV Line’s Matt Webb Mitovich, one SEAL Team fan asks how or if the show is planning to address the current situation in Afghanistan. This is due to Bravo being deployed to the middle eastern country several times.

It was then revealed that SEAL Team may not be immediately addressing the situation. “I am told that the team’s first Season 5 mission will take them to a completely different part of the world,” Webb Mitovich states.

The question for SEAL Team comes after President Joe Biden announced his decision to send American troops back over to Afghanistan in the midst of the current takeover of the Taliban.

SEAL Team is a military drama TV series that follows the Bravo Team, which is an elite unit of the United States Navy SEALs. The show premiered on CBS in September 2017 and stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Jessica Pare, and Neil Brown Jr. It will be moving to Paramount+ for its fifth season.

David Boreanaz Opens Up About His Role on ‘SEAL Team’

In an October 2019 interview with Parade, David Boreanaz opened up about playing the role of SEAL Team’s Jason Hayes. “He is really important to me and, playing him, I feel more in tune as I’ve ever been with a character.”

Boreanaz further explained that SEAL Team is intense. His continuous goal is to make sure that the characters are accurate. “We’ve gotten very positive feedback from veteran, Tier-One operators, and armed forces people thanking us.”

The former Angel star also said that his key goal of the series is to “shine a light” on those who suffer in what they do for a living and how they protect U.S. citizens. He also pays homage to a real-life SEAL by wearing the Tier-One operator’s helmet. The helmet went with him on 13 deployments.

“I wear his helmet and I could wear a light [prop] helmet. But I decided to wear his actual helmet to honor him. I will do that throughout the whole series of its run,” the SEAL Team star stated.

The actor further stated that he does 90% of his stunts. This involves kicking in doors. He shared how he stays in shape to do the stunts. “You just get angry. It’s intense physically on the body,” he says.

Boreanaz goes on to add that he works out at least four times a week. Which includes boxing and focusing on speed work. He eats a high-protein, low-sugar diet as well.
