Shameless star Emmy Rossum destroys a guitar during filming for a new project. The actress was filming an emotionally charged scene as 80s icon Angelyne for an upcoming mini series. The photos will make any fan of Rossum’s pumped for her upcoming role.

The upcoming series was written by Lars and the Real Girl screenwriter Nancy Oliver. The photos and video show Rossum looking anguished as she smashes the guitar while filming on set in Los Angeles. Whatever happens in the scene is truly explosive.

The scene starts with Angelyne, played by the Shameless star being walked somewhere with a man. The man’s hands are over her eyes. The man could possibly be the person playing Angelyne’s partner at the time, Jordan Michaels. Michaels discovered the mysterious figure in the 70s.

When the man removes his hand from her eyes it looks like he thinks he’s about to surprise her with something wonderful. But Angelyne does not react how he expects.

Rossum is a producer on the show alongside her husband, Sam Esmail. Esmail is behind the critically acclaimed series, Mr. Robot.

A trailer for Angelyne came out in April of 2020. It was set to release on Peacock, but has yet to do so. IMDB lists the show’s official description of “an unauthorized limited series based on the Hollywood Reporter’s investigative article about Angelyne, L.A.’s mysterious billboard icon.”

Why it hasn’t been released yet is hard to say, but it could be due to the pandemic potentially halting production last year.

Why Emmy Rossum Left ‘Shameless’

While Emmy Rossum seems to be thriving and working on other projects, her exit from the hit series Shameless came as a big surprise to the show’s fans. The Fiona Gallagher actress left the series after season 9 in 2018.

There was a ton of intense speculation about why she left ranging from pay disputes to conflicts on set, but according to her, the real reason is far different. In a facebook post, Rossum said she cherished the time she had on Shameless, but felt it was time to grow creatively.

“This kind of stability, this family, has nurtured me and made feel safe enough to stretch and grow creatively,” the Shameless star wrote. “The way [executive producer and showrunner] John Wells has shepherded me as an actress, and more recently how he’s encouraged me wholeheartedly as a director and a writer, has been an honor and a privilege.”

Shortly after, she’d land the challenging role of the elusive Angelyne. There’s no more info on when the show will be released, but it looks like its still in the works. It also features Martin Freeman, Jefferson Hall, and Lucas Gage. Here’s the trailer:
