After “The Talk” returned on Monday after a three-week hiatus, viewers were excited to see the co-hosts together again. However, Sharon Osbourne was not watching her former co-hosts’ reunion.

Sources close to the British TV personality reported to TMZ that Osbourne was busy when the show returned to the air. On Mar. 10, Osbourne went on air to publicly defend Piers Morgan after receiving criticism for calling Meghan Markle a liar after her interview with Oprah Winfrey. As a result, Osbourne and her former co-host, Sheryl Underwood, got into a heated argument regarding racism.

Following the blow-up, the sources added that Osbourne and Underwood had not spoken privately since the spat. Even though the controversy has and will continue to make headlines, it appears that Osbourne is ready to close the door on “The Talk.”

Sheryl Underwood Opens ‘The Talk’ by Addressing Sharon Osbourne Controversy

On Monday’s episode, Underwood opened the show from backstage and said that she and her co-hosts would have an open dialogue about the Mar. 10 incident and hopefully move forward to begin healing.

When asked about the future of her relationship with Osbourne, Underwood upheld the gold rule. “People have asked me, ‘Well, if you see Sharon, what would you do?’ If she greeted me warmly and sincerely, I would give her back the same, because we’ve been on this show for 10 years.”

She went on to add, “I want people to understand when you’re friends with somebody you stay friends with. And what did Maya Angelou say? When people show you who they are, believe them.”

During the episode, Underwood also brought up the topic of the unanswered texts Osbourne sent her. Underwood confessed that she did not respond to text messages Osbourne sent. According to Underwood, she didn’t think she could communicate with Osbourne while CBS was conducting their investigation.

Last week, Osbourne shared screenshots of text messages she sent to Underwood that included her apologizing. To clear up why she didn’t respond, she clarified by saying, “I want to clear something up. There was a discussion about Sharon and I communicating with each other. I have not spoken to, and do not have any phone call, missed or received, that I can find in my phone. But there were text messages sent to me. And the reason I did not respond to those text messages is because they were coming to me during the internal investigation.”
