Reality TV show star Sharon Osbourne, wife of heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne, said Thursday that she attempted suicide four years ago.

In an episode of “The Talk,” she admitted to struggling with depression and suicidal ideation over the years.

She said she checked herself into a facility to receive treatment. While there, she said, she met two girls battling drug addiction after their mothers committed suicide. Osbourne described it as a wake-up call.

“It messed them up so bad, that they couldn’t cope with their lives,” she said. “And that shocked me into – come on, am I going to do this to my family, my babies? No way. And that shocked me – it was like an electric shock, and it was like, ‘Get it together.'”

She has three children with Ozzy Osbourne: Jack, 34, Kelly, 35, and Aimee, 37. The pair have been married for 38 years.

According to TMZ, Osbourne has been on medication for depression for over 16 years.

“Some days are better than others, and some days you feel like you just want to pull the sheets over your head and just stay in that bed and not do a damn thing except rot,” she said.

Osbourne has also opened up about her husband’s half-dozen affairs. The couple went through a separation, then reconciled after Ozzy sought treatment for sex addiction.

“Basically, if you’re a woman giving Ozzy either a back rub or a trolley of food, God help you,” Osbourne said, according to Fox News.
