Refusing to apologize for her keen sense of fashion, SI Swimsuit model Brooks Nader states that she doesn’t remotely care if her sexy style offends anyone.
In a recent interview with Page Six, Brooks Nader explains that she was personally attacked for her now-infamous nearly-nude dress at the 2019 Sportsperson of the Year awards.
“When I wore my first sheer dress… people like fully attacked me,” she tells the media outlet. The model admits that the criticism is a bit hurtful.
“Honestly, I’m the type of personality that’s like, okay, cool, people wanted to hate on it? I’m totally going to do it again,” Brooks Nader says. She actually did do it. Just two years after the Sportsperson of the Year event, the swimsuit model had all eyes on her during the SI Swim’s 2021 celebration as she rocked a gorgeous Marc Bouwer mini dress for Miami Swim Week and a stunning silver gown at the SI Swimsuit Issue’s launch party.
Brooks Nader further explains to the media outlet that while her outfits tend to be on the revealing side, her stylists make sure there are no wardrobe malfunctions.
“You wouldn’t believe the types of things that go under there to conceal,” she proclaims. The model then says that the stylists have the styling down to a science.
“If it were up to me, I’m sure that they know I would probably wear noting under [the dress] and they’re like, ‘With the [camera] flashes, that’s just not an option.’”
Brooks Nader Opens Up About Modeling for the SI Swimsuit Issue
While also speaking to Page Six, Brooks Nader reveals why she loves modeling for the SI Swimsuit issue. “SI Swimsuit makes me feel so comfortable,” Nader explains. She also says that she feels like since SI is evolving in a more progressive direction, she has less pressure to do any crash diets.
Nader also speaks about the images of her enjoying a chicken nugget while wearing her sheer silver dress after the SI Swimsuit Issue launch party’s red carpet.
“I wasn’t even thinking about my dress – which, looking back, I probably should have. I was eating chicken nuggets in a sheer dress. Everyone was like, ‘Wow, that is really ballsy!’”
Nader goes on to say that her mom didn’t quite approve of her food choices while wearing the dress. “I mean, my mom doesn’t even think it’s the best idea, but whatever, sorry, mom!”
Brooks Nader recently spoke about the new SI Swimsuit issue. She wrote on Instagram, “So grateful for year 3 in the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue! After such a tough year, being surrounded and supported by the best team in the business and getting to do what I love was unbelievably special!”
