Earlier this month, on November 2nd, William Lucking’s friend posted an obituary and statement on behalf of Lucking’s wife. Unfortunately, it relayed news of his passing at the age of 80. The post also revealed that Lucking’s death occurred in the comfort of his Las Vegas residence back in October. Presumably, they held back this news for a couple of weeks while starting their process of grieving. William Lucking is remembered for his role as the beloved “Piney Winston” on FX’s hit series, “Sons of Anarchy.”

Immediately after the news broke, Kim Coates, Kristen Renton, and Kenny Johnson shared their own tributes to the late star. As the tragic news spread, fans also remembered William Lucking in a series of their own heartbreaking posts and tributes.

Then, Twitter user @BobbyGBklyn joined the conversation adding: “This is sad news. He was a great actor, a Mans Man. #SonsOfAnarchy will forever be my #1. We will miss William. #PineyWinston

At the end of the day, several Twitter users found the late actor’s age astonishing. This is because he always appeared younger than he actually was. Later, the “MASH Matters” Podcast shared a photo from one of his earlier roles in their own tribute. It shows William Lucking in full costume as his Sergeant Marty Urbancic character in the season 10 episode titled “Sons and Bowlers.” He would have been around 40 years old at the time.
