Joseph Siravo passed away this morning at the age of 64. His daughter, Allegra Okarmus, confirmed his passing in an Instagram post earlier this morning. His death came after a long battle with cancer.

Fans of The Sopranos know Siravo best for his role as Johnny Boy Soprano, the father of Tony. However, he was an actor with a long list of credits. For instance, he was in Carlito’s Way (1993) as well as Maid in Manhattan (2002). Joseph Siravo was also known for his appearances on several Law and Order series including Special Victims Unit and Trial by Jury.

Joseph Siravo was also a star on the stage. He held several roles on and off-Broadway. His stage credits include Conversations with My Father, The Boys from Syracuse, and Tennessee & Me.

BBC News reports that his daughter was by his side at the time of his death. She is quoted as saying that Joseph Siravo died peacefully in his beloved treehouse. “We are both so lucky to be so intensely loved. I am so immensely grateful to have had him here on earth and I know that he hasn’t gone very far,” Okarmus said in the post in which she broke the news of her father’s passing.

Joseph Siravo will be missed by all those whose lives he touched both in person as well in his long career on the stage and screen.
