Steve Irwin’s Daughter Bindi Celebrates Daughter’s One Month With Her First Pair of Khakis and Adorable Turtle Pics

The legacy of late conservation icon Steve Irwin continues with his first grandchild, Grace, as Bindi Irwin gives her tiny daughter her first pair of Australia Zoo khakis.

Among many reasons, it’s truly a shame Steve Irwin isn’t around to see how remarkable his two children have become. Under the stewardship of his wife, the equally wonderful American naturalist Terri Irwin, both Robert and Bindi Irwin have become conservation icons in their own right; going beyond the work, time, and love it requires – just as Steve will always be remembered for.

One month ago, Bindi Irwin brought the late legend’s first grandchild into the world: Grace Warrior. Monday, she’s celebrating her tiny girl’s first month in the world her family cherishes with the most fitting of gifts: her first pair of Australia Zoo khakis. The khakis were made iconic by Steve Irwin, and will forever be associated with his family’s legacy.

“To celebrate one month, our beautiful Grace Warrior received her first khakis and met the star tortoises here at Australia Zoo,” Bindi writes on her official Instagram. “We’re so proud of our Wildlife Warrior princess. I know our darling girl is going to grow up caring for Mother Earth and all her animals.”

Outsiders have zero doubts, too, Bindi. To say the world is excited to see how Grace grows up would be an understatement.

Steve Irwin’s Legacy is in the Best of Hands

A few days prior, Bindi paid tribute to her father, as she often does, for Earth Day. Within, she shares Steve’s iconic opening monologue from his celebrated “Crocodile Hunter” series. His words, alongside a perfect snapshot of her father with a tiny caiman alligator, illustrate how timeless their family’s legacy is – and how powerful it remains through the following generations of Irwin blood.

“Come with me. Share it with me. Share my wildlife with me. Because humans want to save the things that they love. My job, my mission, the reason I’ve been put onto this planet is to save wildlife. And I thank you for coming with me.”

In between these posts, Bindi celebrates the other love of her life, her husband Chandler Powell. The two met in 2013 when Powell was in Australia for a professional wakeboarding competition. He visited Steve Irwin’s famous Australia Zoo during his stay – and Bindi herself just so happened to be giving the tours that day.

Through Bindi, Chandler has become an incredible ally to the Australia Zoo. He spends most of his time engrossed in the Irwin’s conservation work and holds his own at that. No small feat in such a family!

Of the father to her baby girl, Bindi sends “A note of gratitude for this incredible man that I get to call my husband. Grace and I are beyond blessed to have him in our lives. His strength, love and kindness are the greatest gifts in the world,” she shared to Instagram April 24.

It goes without saying, but Steve Irwin is beyond blessed – and proud – too.
