Last night’s episode of Survivor was tied up with The Masked Singer for the top rating spot. It took home the highest viewership on the night.

Coming into the night, it was expected that these two shows would compete with one another for the top spots. It turns out that it was a very close battle. The double-elimination night over on Survivor proved to be must-see TV. There were some twists and turns that likely led to a successful night in the ratings.

When it came down to it, The Masked Singer and Survivor held steady from last week. Both shows held a 0.9 rating for the 18-49 demographic. However, there was a winner when it came to total viewership last night. The CBS survival competition brought in 5.63 million viewers. It was a drama-filled episode that showed fans there could be major shake-ups in the near future.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on TV, there were some solid numbers. ABC had a good night for The Goldbergs as well as The Conners. They both brought in over 3 million viewers to go along with a 0.5 rating. Then, over on CBS, Tough As Nails pulled a 0.4 rating to go along with 2.8 million viewers. CSI: Vegas pulled in the same rating, but with 3.75 million viewers.

This week, Survivor showed viewers that there are some sleeping giants among the remaining players. While there have been clear leaders up to his point, some background players are looking to make some noise. There are risks being taken and powers are going to be used more often moving forward it seems. Shan Smith might be in a worse position than she thinks. That could lead to disaster if she doesn’t keep her wits about her.

‘Survivor’ Twist Lets Players take Big Risks

Over the years, Survivor has shown that when you least expect it, something big happens. A player makes a move, a fake idol is found, or a hidden one is used. There have been so many twists and turns over the course of 41 seasons. So, no one really knows what is going to happen each week.

However, last night gave us a look into the future. Just a little bit, though. There was a double-elimination setup and two tribal councils were formed. That split the merged group into two once more. Richard and Shan are still holding onto their alliance. Richard convinced Shan to take out Naseer with her extra vote. It worked just as he planned.

Now, whether Shan and Richard know it or not, Deshawn is going to try his best to get her out of the game. He is working on his alliance team members to turn on Shan as soon as they can. He had plans to get rid of her, but fate did not allow them to be put into the same council. Next week reveals more drama on Survivor.
