Sylvester Stallone excitedly shared a shot of himself in costume for an upcoming movie role.

The popular “Rocky” actor has had only a few roles in recent years. For example, in 2019 he was in the movie “Escape Plan: The Extractors” with Dave Bautista and Curtis Jackson. Other roles also include “The Suicide Squad” as the voice of King Shark and in “Rambo: Last Blood” as John Rambo.

Sylvestor Stallone in Marvel Movie

Now, Sylvester Stallone will once again play his Marvel character in an upcoming movie. He posted a photo on Instagram captioned, “Yes what’s coming your way? Keep Your guard up! #guardiansofthegalaxyvol3.”

You may remember Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogor, also known as Starhawk, during “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” which came out in 2017. He recently confirmed he would make an appearance in the new third installment when he posted a behind-the-scenes picture this week.

The actor posted a video demonstrating the equipment and moviemaking process at work for the huge blockbuster movie. “For those interested [in] what goes on behind the scenes for filmmaking. Here’s just a very small part of it. Face duplication,” he wrote. He showcases how the equipment can capture “every expression you could possibly have” and noted just how scientific making a movie has become.

Marvel fans also were ecstatic after getting to see the first day of filming through the perspective of director James Gunn. He shared a photo surrounded by the stars of the movie — Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Will Poulter, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

The movie featuring Sylvestor Stallone will come out on May 5, 2023, as of now. Stallone also is filming or recently wrapped up projects like “Little America,” “The Expendables 4,” and “Samaritan.”

Sylvester Stallone on ‘Rocky’ Role

Sylvester Stallone is still keeping up quite the presence in the entertainment world. However, nothing will probably ever top his role in the classic “Rocky” franchise.

During “Rocky IV” Stallone’s character gets into an intense fight with actor Dolph Lundgren’s character. One punch, in particular, was hard enough to make Stallone think death was near.

Stallone recently revealed that the Rocky Balboa versus Ivan Drago scene led him to have serious health issues the night after the fight scene. He was flown to California from Canada to an intensive care unit.

“Well, he pulverized me. And I didn’t feel it in the moment, but later that night my heart started to swell. My blood pressure went up to 260 and I was going to be talking to angels, next thing I know I’m on this emergency, low-altitude flight. I’m in intensive care surrounded by nuns and then after that, I had to go back and finish the fight,” Stallone said, according to PennLive.
