Besides a love for acting, seen clearly in iconic roles like “Rocky” and “The Expendables,” Sylvester Stallone has another outlet to utilize his creativity.

The acting legend just opened up his very own art exhibit to show off a massive collection of paintings he has done over the years.

Sylvester Stallone Art Exhibit in Germany

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the exhibit is located in Hagen, Germany, and is called “Sylvester Stallone: The Magic of Being.” The exhibit will be up at the Osthaus Museum Hagan from December 4 to February 20.

He teased some of the work in a recent Instagram video, as well. He captioned it, “Some of the exhibition from the HAGEN MUSEUM” while he points out and discusses the setup and inspiration.

It’s amongst several different art shows that Stallone has done in the past. He has previously had a showing in 2013 at the State Russian Museum and in 2015 at the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain.

This is no recent hobby for the “Rocky” actor either. He has been painting since the 1960s. This exhibit will trace back to some of his earliest works.

“You know, maybe I should have been a painter. It sure would have meant a lot less stress,” Stallone said regarding his exhibit. As for inspirations, Stallone said he loved the work of Jackson Pollack and Willem de Kooning growing up.

If you’re a massive fan of the “Rocky” or “Rambo” universe, visiting this exhibit may be a special treat. Several of Stallone’s pieces are references to his acting career and the kind of surge it ignites in popular culture. The character Rocky existed between the brush and the palette before it was a movie.

In 1975, Stallone created “Finding Rocky,” which explores this newfound character that goes from rookie boxer to legend.

Don’t worry, though. The 75-year-old actor is still involved in the acting world as well. Some of his upcoming projects include “The Expendables 4,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” and “Samaritan.”

Stallone Items Go to Auction

While his art exhibit delves a bit into the “Rambo” and “Rocky” universe, fans can also get ahold of parts of Stallone’s personal collection at an auction.

He is putting over 500 items for sale through Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, California. According to the New York Post, some of these include things like scripts and props from “Creed,” “Rocky III,” and “Rambo.”

Due to these movies having an international impact on pop culture, fans will likely swarm to these items. Included in the collection are the iconic American flag boxing trunks and the red boxing gloves from “Rocky III.”
