That ’70s Show star and former Bond Girl Tanya Roberts is apparently not dead after multiple reports came out Monday morning saying that the actress had died.
Roberts’ publicist Mike Pingel announced on Sunday that she had passed away suddenly. The 65-year-old was walking her dogs on Christmas Eve before she collapsed, Pingel said. She was then rushed to the hospital and placed on a ventilator.
“It came out of nowhere; it was all very sudden,” Pingel added.
But a longtime friend of Roberts said she did not die of a COVID-19-related illness. Roberts had rarely ventured out of her home in 2020. According to Pingel, she did so only three times. Two of those times were veterinarian visits for her dogs.
Roberts is an actress who’s known for her beauty and grace on film and television. She appeared in classics such as A View to a Kill and Charlie’s Angels.
The Bronx, New York, native often took to social media to connect virtually with her fans during the pandemic. She streamed from her Facebook page weekly, speaking about a number of various topics. She last held one of those online conversations Dec. 19.
“I’ve been basically hiking with my dog and doing my workouts in the house,” she says in the most recent video.
Fans, former colleagues and friends paid tribute to Roberts after her sudden passing was announced.
Tanya Roberts Is Alive
However, it seems as though the death of Tanya Roberts has been at least somewhat exaggerated. Now, her publicist is saying that she is alive, despite just telling TMZ days ago that she died, in addition to sending out a press release with that information.
“The rep had told us she died Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. He told us Tanya’s husband had informed him that Tanya had passed,” TMZ reported. “We even got a quote from the rep from Tanya’s husband, Lance, saying, ‘As I held her in her last moments, she opened her eyes.'”
Pingel, recently told TMZ that Lance got a call just after 10 a.m. on Monday morning from the hospital saying Tanya was still alive. Pingel adds that Lance truly believed Roberts had died.
