Two stars of that “That ’70s Show” are coming back for a spinoff of the heavily popular show, called “That ’90’s Show.”

Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp will head up the cast of the “That ’70s Show” cast as Red and Kitty Foreman. The Foreman family was the centerpiece of the well-liked television show that aired in the early 2000s. Kurtwood Smith played Red Foreman, a military veteran and tough-as-nails father to son Eric Foreman. Kitty Foreman was Eric’s loving mother who often saved her son from Red’s harsh criticism and punishment.

The two veteran actors had great comedic chemistry together as the Foremans and hope to rekindle that magic with this new sitcom. Fans of “That ’70s Show” are eager to see what the show has to offer in a new century. As the title states, the action in the new sitcom will take place in the 90s.

The “That ’70s Show” cast was full of future superstars that would go on to do great things. Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, and Mila Kunis were all young members of the show. A member of the star-studded “That ’70s Show” cast shares their thoughts on the upcoming spinoff. One former cast member who will likely not be making an appearance on “That ’90s Show” is Danny Masterson.

He played the popular character, Steven Hyde, on the show, but Masterson faces trial over three rape charges and there likely won’t be any scenario in which he would return. Still, Masterson thinks the return of his former co-stars is very exciting. He took to social media to share his enthusiasm.

‘That ’70s Show’ Star is Excited for Netflix Spinoff Sitcom

“This is literally the dopest thing I’ve heard in a decade,” he says in the social media post. “So excited for Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp two of the great humans and greatest actors on the planet. Can’t wait to watch and laugh.”

The reboot series will follow the adventures of Leia Foreman, Red and Kitty’s granddaughter, and Eric and Donna’s child. Young Leia will be traveling to Wisconsin to spend some time in Point Place and with her grandparents. If she is anything like her father and mother, Leia will be up for causing some trouble. The show’s Netflix description promises the show will revel in its “That ’70s Show’ history.

“Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995 and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red,” the description says. “Sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll never dies, it just changes clothes.”

We can’t wait to catch “That 90s Show” when it hits the streaming giant in the near future.
