There have been some incredible things to come out of The Brady Bunch. One of those things was a wrestling match between Christopher Knight and Danny Bonaduce. Knight played Peter Brady on the famous show, and Bonaduce played Danny Partridge on The Partridge Family.

The two actors had a lot of history together in Hollywood. Specifically, their two shows were competing for viewership in the early 1970s.

In January of 1994, the two actors faced off against each other in a big match. The match was called the “Battle of the Former Childhood Stars.” The two were doing a wrestling showcase after Knight challenged Bonaduce.

Bonaduce had made some belittling comments about The Brady Bunch housekeeper, Alice, while on the radio. During the broadcast, The Partridge Family star said that he was a great wrestler and could bench 300 pounds. Florence Henderson and Susan Olsen were in full support of the match happening.

Consequently, the two childhood stars took the stage together. Even though the wrestling match was certainly staged, the two put on an awesome show. During the World Championship Wrestling’s pay-per-view “Spring Stampede,” they traded blows. The match had flips, body slams, and big forearm smashes. Eventually, Bonaduce was able to pin Knight for a three-count to win.

“The Brady Bunch” Star Explained How the Wrestling Match Went With Danny Bonaduce

On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2019, the whole cast of The Brady Bunch discussed the show. However, one person rang in to ask Knight about the famous wrestling match. The caller wanted to know about how embarrassing the match with Bonaduce was for the actor. He also wanted to know if there would ever be a rematch.

Knight smiled and said, “No, there won’t be a rematch. That was baked in. We did that in Chicago, and he was a personality on the radio at the time. So, if you haven’t gotten the drift on the whole wrestling thing, it’s pretty much scripted.”

Cohen chimed in and said that Knight agreed to lose the match. But, Knight wanted to set the record straight on what happened between the two childhood star actors.

“I got to throw him around as a consequence of me having to lose because it turns at the very end.” Knight added one tidbit of information that people wouldn’t know about the match. He said, “I broke his rib.”

Even though Knight lost the fight, it wasn’t a big deal to the star of The Brady Bunch. It seemed that in the end, he was happy settling for breaking Bonaduce’s rib.
