If you’re a fan of “The Brady Bunch” there is a very special – and unique – event that you will not want to miss. Many members of the show’s original cast are joining forces with a popular reality television show to recreate one of the classic sitcom’s most popular episodes.
According to TODAY, the cast members of “The Brady Bunch” are joining forces with “RuPaul’s Drag Race” for the project. The episode they have decided to recreate is “Will the Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up?”
This is the episode where middle sister Jan Brady gets fed up with constantly being overlooked. She wants people to notice her. In order to do so, she decides to make a very bold statement. She covers her blonde hair with a black wig for a party. This episode originally aired on Jan. 15, 1971.
Five of the original actors who played the children on “The Brady Bunch” decided to take part in recreating the episode. They are Eve Plumb (Jan), Susan Olsen (Cindy), Barry Williams (Greg), Christopher Knight (Peter), and Mike Lookinland (Bobby). Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia, did not participate.
Some Original Stars of ‘The Brady Bunch’ Cast in Different Roles for Episode Recreation
However, some of the original cast members will not be playing the Brady kids in the special event. Instead, some of them have been given other parts.
Knight will play Peter again, while Lookinland will again play Bobby. Williams, however, will not play Greg. He is set to play Mike Brady – the patriarch of “The Brady Bunch.” Robert Reed originally played Mike. Plumb will play Lucy, while Olsen will play Margie.
Also, cast members of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” have been given some of the parts of the Brady kids. Kylie Sonique Love will play Jan. Playing Cindy will be Kandy Muse. Shea Couleé will play Marcia. BenDeLaCreme will play Greg. Bianca Del Rio will bring matriarch Carol Brady to life. Florence Henderson played Carol in the original show.
And, of course, RuPaul will make an appearance in the special. He will appear as a wig attendant. Also, Michelle Visage will play Helen. The special even cast Nina West to play beloved housekeeper Alice. Alice was originally played by Ann B. Davis.
In addition to its unique combination of actors and reality television stars, the special event will also be an interesting watch in other ways, according to information released by Paramount+. The event was described as “an innovative, one-of-a-kind event that uses state-of-the-art technology to transport the cast into the original Brady house.”
This unique “The Brady Bunch” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” episode became available on June 30. It is airing on Paramount+. It sounds like it is a very fun recreation of a beloved episode of television!
