Today (Sept. 30, 2021) one of the most famous child stars in the history of television celebrated his 67th birthday. That child star is Barry Williams. He rose to fame, of course, thanks to his role as Greg Brady in the beloved family sitcom “The Brady Bunch.”

In honor of the birthday of the Greg Brady actor, one of his co-stars from “The Brady Bunch” shared special birthday wishes with her former television brother. That co-star is Maureen McCormick. She played Marcia Brady in the beloved show.

As fans of the sitcom are aware, Greg and Marcia were the oldest children in the Brady family dynamic. Greg was the oldest of the sons born to Mike Brady (Robert Reed). Marcia was the oldest daughter born to Carol (Florence Henderson).

For her special birthday wish for her “The Brady Bunch” co-star, Maureen McCormick decided to share her message on Instagram.

And, unsurprisingly, the message she shared was nostalgic and kind at the same time. “Happy Birthday Dearest Barry @thebarrywilliams … Thanks for always being one of my best pals ever! I adore you! xoxo,” McCormick shared. Along with her message, the 65-year-old shared a photo of her looking very happy alongside her former television brother.

‘The Brady Bunch’ Actor Barry Williams Was Born in Santa Monica, California

It was on Sept. 30, 1954, that the person who would go on to become famous for his role as Greg Brady was born. According to IMDb, Barry Williams was born in Santa Monica, California, on that day 67 years ago.

His given name at birth was Barry William Blenkhorn. When he was just 11 years old he changed his name to the name he would become famous with – Barry Williams.

Luckily for the future “The Brady Bunch” star, one of his neighbors growing up was the actor Peter Graves. Graves is known for his roles in such films as “Airplane.” He also made appearances in such television shows as “The Love Boat,” “The Golden Girls,” and “Fantasy Island.”

It was with Peter Graves that Barry Williams found someone who could offer advice about becoming an actor. Williams sought help from acting teachers before he landed the role as Greg Brady in “The Brady Bunch” in 1969.

The beloved family sitcom ran from 1969 until 1974. In addition to Williams, McCormick, Reed, and Henderson, the cast also included Eve Plumb as Jan, Susan Olsen as Cindy, Christopher Knight as Peter, Mike Lookinland as Bobby, and Ann B. Davis as Alice.

After the original run of “The Brady Bunch” came to an end, Barry Williams continued his acting career. He had roles in such popular television series as “Murder, She Wrote,” “Three’s Company,” “General Hospital,” and “Highway to Heaven.”

Of course, he also appeared in many of “The Brady Bunch” reunion events that were held over the years.
