Weeks after marrying his new wife Louise (portrayed by Katey Sagal), it looks like The Conners leading character, Dan Conner (played by John Goodman), is struggling to put away the past.

In the upcoming episode of The Conners, titled Yard Sale, Phone Fail, And a College Betrayal, Dan is looking to donate a lot of the family’s old furniture. He wants to make room for Lousie’s stuff. But he receives some pushback from his children Darlene (Sara Gilbert), DJ (Michael Fishman), and Becky (Lecy Goranson) as they are sentimental about the stuff they grew up with.

Along with struggling with his children being against selling the family’s old items, The Conners character is seen struggling himself with parting ways from furniture and old memories.

As previously reported, Writers introduced Sagal’s character early in Season 1, following Roseanne Conner’s death. Sagel’s and Goodman’s characters built up the storyline. They originally established a friendship, then a couple, and, finally, they are now husband and wife.

John Goodman Opens Up About How ‘The Conners’ Has Continued On After Roseanne Barr’s Departure

During a 2019 interview with Seth Meyers, John Goodman spoke about how The Conners is continuing on even after Roseanne Barr’s controversial exit from the Roseanne franchise. “It was really odd. We used to have a lot of fun on the show. And I really missed her this year.

Roseanne was rebooted 20 years after the original show ended. Unfortunately, Barr was fired after she posted racist tweets. The show was rebranded as The Conners with Barr’s character being killed off.

“She gave up a lot so that we could do the show,” The Conner’s star explained about Roseanne’s involvement with the revival. “She gave up all her rights to it so we didn’t have to call ourselves the Conners or the Conners. And invent new characters. But yeah, she will be missed.”

Also speaking about the death of Barr’s characters, Goodman also shared, “That’s pretty permanent. I mean, when I died on the show they just brought me back. They’re not going to remember. Nobody was watching toward the end.”

As for Barr, she previously spoke about her actions on Twitter in a statement. “

I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from Roseanne. I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved. And I wish the best for everyone involved.”

The Conners premiered on October 16, 2018. The show stars most of the Roseanne’s beloved stars, including Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, and Michael Fishman. The show is now on its fourth season, which premiered on September 22, 2021. Recently, the show brought in 3.4 million viewers with a 0.5 demographic rating.
