The 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' Returns: Here's How, Where to Watch

The Ellen DeGeneres Show returns later today (Sept. 21) for its 18th Season. And host Ellen DeGeneres is expected to address recent allegations of a “toxic workplace” environment.

“I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio,” DeGeneres told People in a statement. “Yes, we’re gonna talk about it.”

Viewers can watch ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on NBC.

The show airs on local broadcast via NBC and its affiliates. To watch the live broadcast, viewers will need either an antenna or basic cable. While the premiere time varies based upon viewers’ local areas, the show generally airs around 3 or 4 p.m, according to Ellen Tube.

Viewers can also live stream the show via the official NBC website and app. To access live streaming, viewers must have a subscription to a TV provider such as Xfinity or Spectrum. Viewers can also watch the show through a live TV subscription with Hulu, YouTube TV or Sling TV. Subscriptions like AT&T Now also offer the TV show.

Additionally, the TV show often posts highlights and clips from its episodes to its website and Youtube channel.

NBC delayed the show’s premiere due to the ‘controversy.’

The network had scheduled the show to originally air on Sept. 9. In recent months, both DeGeneres and her show have come under fire for how they have treated both workers and guests. Dozens of former employees spoke out against the host and the show’s production team. They said the show had a “toxic” environment and also accused high-level producers of both sexual misconduct and racial insensitivity.

DeGeneres apologized in a statement.

“I’m so so sorry for what this has become. I’ve left this to be a well-oiled machine, and I realize it’s not a machine…its human beings,” she said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “I apologize for anyone who’s feelings I’ve hurt. I’m not perfect. I’m multi-layered and I learn from my mistakes. I care about each and every one of you. I’m grateful for each and every one of you.”

The show returns to the studio, minus an in-studio audience due to the COVID-19 precautions. Actress Tiffany Haddish will be DeGeneres’ first guest of the season. Alec Baldwin, Kerry Washington and Chrissy Teigen will join the host in the first few episodes.
