Like Ray Liotta, Jason Statham has a certain reputation. He plays the guns blazing tough guy in each of the following critically-acclaimed films: “Snatch,” “Crank,” and “Transporter.” Jason Statham also carries this energy throughout the entirety of the “The Expendables” franchise as well. Here, he’s joined by other Hollywood big shots like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, and Jackie Chan. The third installment of the “Expendables” saga came out back in 2014. This means fans are more than hungry for the next chapter. The good news? Director Scott Waugh has been filming “The Expendables 4” for a month now. And what’s more, Jason Statham just teased an epic first look at the work. He shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos of a totally brutal fight involving his hero character with the penultimate villain.

Without a set release date or any information regarding the actual plot of the upcoming thriller, fans are pouring over the post for clues. The photoset shows off blood, bruises, weapons, and an impressive display of martial arts. But who is Jason Statham’s opponent in “The Expendables 4?”

The caption from his Instagram post tells fans that Statham’s Lee Christmas battles Iko’s villain character. And on top of that, Jason considers working with Iko to be a great honor. Statham calls the expert martial artist “a true master of his game and a powerhouse of speed and skills that take a lifetime to achieve.”

Iko took to Instagram as well, sharing his own behind-the-scenes snaps from the set. Some of the photos are the same as Statham’s, but there is some bonus content for fans here. And in true gritty fashion, the photos are all exclusively set in black and white tones.

He says of working with Statham: “It’s one thing to be good friends with a fellow actor on set. Another thing if the fellow actor is a true gentleman you look up to and have so much respect since day one. Thank you for having me @jasonstatham I’m humbled and beyond honoured to share a screen with you.”

The Indonesian actor practices pencak silat martial arts and actually boasts a rather long list of Hollywood credits for some epic fight scenes.
