‘The Talk’: Another Host Leaving Show, Joining Sharon Osbourne and Carrie Ann Inaba as Recent Departures

Looks like the CBS daytime talk show The Talk is going to have yet another co-host shakeup in less than six months.

After just one season, Elaine Welteroth has announced her departure from the series.

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, the soon-to-be-former The Talk co-host stated, “It was an absolute honor for anyone, but especially a young Black woman, to occupy space on-air where our perspectives are largely underrepresented.”

Welteroth also shared that it was gratifying to be able to show up as her authentic self in front of a live national audience every day.

“I came to The Talk to break out of my own echo chamber and to join a diverse cast in helping a bridge some of the divides in our world through conversation and empathy.”

She then praised herself on how she represented herself and her community. “I will miss my talented co-hosts and crew and I wish them the very best. Thanks to all those who tuned in every day.”

Welteroth Addresses Fans After Announcing Her ‘The Talk’ Departure

Along with her official statement, Elaine Welteroth took to her Instagram to address fans about her departure from The Talk. “I’m so glad I didn’t shy away from this divine assignment to learn, to grow, to laugh, to cry, to make new friends, to learn a ton, and most importantly, to stay true to myself,” Welteroth writes. “And what I stand for every single day—even when it was uncomfortable.”

While also revealing why she decided to join The Talk, to begin with, Welteroth stated that it was because she was excited to break out of her own “echo” chamber and join a diverse cast in helping to bridge some of the divides in the world through conversation and empathy.

She goes on to add that she’s moving into a new chapter in her life. While she won’t be back on The Talk next season, she will miss her co-hosts and crew as well as their daily #glamfam dance parties in the dressing room.

“Thank you all for riding with me through this journey. Stay tuned for some exciting updates ahead.”

Welteroth Leaves ‘The Talk’ Less Than Two Weeks After Carrie Ann Inaba Departs the Talk Show

Welteroth’s news comes less than two weeks after Carrie Ann Inaba announced her departure from The Talk. Inaba previously took an extended leave of absence due to health concerns.

In her statement, Inaba said, “I enjoyed my time at TheTalk as co-host and moderator and I am grateful for the opportunity I had to grow with the entire Talk family as well as truly connect with viewers on such a personal level. I will miss The Talk, but I am excited for the next chapter both for myself and for the show.”

Along with Welteroth and Inaba, Sharon Osbourne was fired from The Talk in March over comments she made during a heated argument between her and the other co-hosts.
