Following the news that CBS’ talk show The Talk has officially been renewed for its 12th season, co-host of the show Carrie Ann Inaba shared her excitement for the renewal.

“[The Talk] has been renewed for another season! Congratulations to everyone who works on the show!” Inaba beams in an Instagram post. “12 Seasons is incredible…. All the people you don’t see behind the scenes…. It’s a huge family that makes this show go! The hard work, the love, the kindness, the artistry, the multitude of skills it takes [to] create a daily show.”

Inaba also pens, “I’m always amazed and impressed with how this show works. Congratulations to everyone who works on the show!”

The renewal of the show comes just months after Sharon Osbourne departed and Inaba revealed she is taking a leave of absence from the panel.

‘The Talk’ Co-Host Shake Ups

The talk show was hit with controversy when Osbourne had a heated conversation with her fellow hosts while defending Piers Morgan regarding his stance on Meghan Markle’s royal interview statements. Sharon made her departure from the show on March 26th.

Shortly after the incident, Sharon revealed to Entertainment Weekly, “I am not a racist and if you can’t have a go at your friend who happens to be Black, does that make me racist because I said certain things to my friend, but I said them on camera? I will keep on apologizing to Sheryl, even if I decide not to go back, I will still keep apologizing to Sheryl … have nothing but respect and so much affection for Sheryl … don’t want to hurt her.”

Carrie Ann Inaba Takes a Break

Just one month after Sharon’s departure, Carrie Ann Inaba revealed on Twitter she was taking a leave of absence. “I have decided to take a leave of absence from [The Talk] to focus on my health and well-being,” She tweets. “I appreciate the support from you and my family at The Talk and hope to be back soon.”

Fans shared their thoughts about the departure by tweeting, “I’ve been praying that you would leave the Talk to focus more on your dancing. You’re a class act & need to be working for classy shows! Take good care of your precious self!” Another adds, “I don’t blame you [for] wanting to get away from the now toxic show. Take care of yourself and feel better.”

Carrie Ann suffers from multiple different conditions, including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and Sjogren’s syndrome. Inaba recently revealed she has lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

Current hosts on The Talk are Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, and Elaine Welteroth. The original panel included Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini, Julie Chen, and Sharon Osbourne. There has yet to be any word as to if or when Inaba will be returning to the panel and no replacements have been announced for either Osbourne and Inaba.
