Although she may be taking a leave of absence from The Talk, Carrie Ann Inaba is continuing to remain loyal to the hit CBS talk show.
The Talks team took to the show’s Instagram account on Wednesday to announce that Jerry O’Connell has been named a new co-host. “Jerry O’Connell is The Talk’s NEW HOST! NEW HOST ALERT!”
Carrie Ann Inaba was among those congratulating O’Connell for joining The Talk. “Congratulations to Jerry! He’s one of the nicest people in television!” Carrie writes in the post’s comment section. Welcome to @thetalkcbs family. ❤️ thank you for making us smile!”
Fellow The Talk co-host Amanda Kloots also sounded off about Jerry O’Connell’s new spot on the panel. in the comment section, “The best news! We love you Jerry!”
CBS also took to the Instagram post and wrote, “Welcome to the family, Jerry!”
Carrie Ann Inaba Takes Leave of Absence From‘The Talk’
Carrie Ann Inaba announced her leave of absence on The Talk in April 2021 following a major blowup among the co-hosts and the departure of former co-host Sharon Osbourne. The co-host insisted at the time that the leave was to do with her health issues. “Basically, since the pandemic hit, I have been in extreme pain. I’m on the road to recovery, and I’m extremely grateful,” Inaba states in an Instagram Story at the time.
Carrie Ann previously stated that she was planning to return to The Talk. “We are probably going to sit down and have some discussions about what the future is and when I go back,” she shares at the beginning of June. She did say that she misses everyone on the show and was looking forward to able to do what she loves “when the time is right.”
There has yet to be any kind of announcement on whether Carrie Ann Inaba will be returning to The Talk anytime soon. Current co-hosts on the panel along with Kloots and O’Connell are Elaine Welteroth and Sheryl Underwood.
Tyra Banks Begs Carrie Ann Inaba to Return to ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Amid ‘The Talk’ Absence
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, host of Dancing With the Stars Tyra Banks spoke about the idea of Carrie Ann Inaba returning to the competition series as a judge while she’s taking a leave of absence from The Talk. “She was [on the show] way before I was,” Bank states. “So I’m gonna be begging her, ‘Please, Baby, please! You gonna be there, right?”
Carrie Ann Inaba was a judge on Dancing With the Stars alongside Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli from seasons 1 through 29. Tyra Banks took over as the show’s host after Tom Bergeron was let go in 2020.
