‘The Talk’ Drops ‘Squad Goals’ Snap in Wake of Sharon Osbourne Departure

The Talk has been taking a lot of hits this year. A lot has changed recently for the CBS show. But, they are still pressing on and trying to gather all of the loose ends together.

For one, the current hosts of the show are Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, and Elaine Welteroth. Recently, Carrie Ann Inaba announced that she is leaving the show for an indefinite hiatus. That is just the latest blow for the struggling show.

Nonetheless, on Wednesday, April 28, The Talk shared a photo of the four hosts sitting in chairs to the show’s social media. The show’s guest host, Francia Raisa, was also included in the group photo. The photo was included in a series of photos on the show’s Instagram Story.

This post seems like a push from The Talk to regain some of the show’s past mojo.

“The Talk” Ratings Are Down Since Sharon Osbourne Left

Sharon Osbourne sent the show spiraling after she defended Piers Morgan’s comments about Meghan Markle. Many people thought her comments were racist and insensitive. Nonetheless, The Talk was forced to take a break.

After a little while, Sharon Osbourne announced that she was leaving the CBS show. On April 13, the show made its return to television. But, The Talk’s ratings were down badly.

From April 12 to 16, the show ranked last in women aged 19 to 49. The Talk also was the same for women aged 25 to 54. Additionally, the CBS show scored a .23 rating and a .35 rating in these age groups. These awful numbers mean that the show is the lowest-rated daytime show on television.

These numbers reflect how disappointed fans are in the show. Sharon Osbourne was the last original host left on the show. When she left, people threatened to boycott the show. It seems like people are taking that seriously and tuning into other daytime talk shows.

Even before Osbourne left the show, The Talk was down 27 percent from its previous season. In fact, it averaged 1.505 million viewers. Last year it held steady at 2.057 million people.

Now, though, the television show has fallen well behind and ranked 13 out of similar shows. The View, on the other hand, picked up 14 percent in viewership over this period of time.

But, The Talk is still dealing with controversy. Osbourne still seems to hold a lot of power over the show. Recently, Underwood took a shot at her former co-host when they returned to filming this April. And Osbourne has not been silent either. She went on Real Time With Bill Maher to detail her side of the controversial incident.
