After Meghan McCain announced at the beginning of July that she would be exiting “The View” at the end of the month, viewers wonder who will take her place on the morning talk show.

Now, reportedly several right-leaning women like McCain may be in the running as her replacement. As a result, there’s been alleged “chaos” behind the scenes as longtime co-host Joy Behar realizes she may get someone with more challenging viewpoints.

Per The Daily Mail’s reporting, Republicans such as Kimberly Guilfoyle, Megyn Kelly, and Candace Owens are the potential candidates for the new position— and Behar isn’t pleased with it.

“It’s chaos behind the scenes at The View,” an ABC source told the outlet. “Joy Behar is openly moaning about Meghan leaving. It’s finally hit her that sometimes it is better the devil know you.”

The insider added, “Joy has only just realized that they could be getting someone much further right on the political spectrum than Meghan who won’t put up with her crap.”

Several Women in the Running for Spot on ‘The View’

According to the insider, in the past, “The View” tried to recruit Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend. When she and Trump Jr. appeared on the show, the network saw some of the highest ratings in the season.

“[Kimberly] would be great as she would literally prosecute the other members of the panel every day of the week,” the insider said of Guilfoyle. “One of our highest rated episodes ever was when she stopped by the show with Don Jr. Megyn Kelly would also do the same. However, her new Sirius deal makes it hard for her to come to us.”

As for Candace Owens, there’s also a strong chance she could join the ladies. Yet, for now, everything seems to be up in the air. As producers try to find McCain’s replacement, guest host Ana Navarro has voiced her hopes to be on the show. Although, fans probably won’t be seeing the CNN correspondent on the set.

“Ana Navarro is angry because she desperately wants Meghan’s job but she’s convinced they’re not going to give her a full-time seat at the table,” the source says. “Ana doesn’t deserve the chair. She is not a Republican in the true sense of the word. All she does is slam people who voted for Trump. We need to hire a Trump Republican to reach more of the available audience at home.”

As for McCain’s exit from “The View,” she’s stated there were multiple factors that contributed to her decision. However, she noted that 2020 played a significant role in her decision. For McCain, the struggle of 2020 made her realize that she wants to move her life in a different direction.
