“Well, hip-hop is what makes the world go around.”

The wise words of Snoop Dogg. The infamous rapper also once said that he wants to change his name to Scoop Dogg and run an ice cream shop when he’s done rapping.

Snoop Dogg isn’t out of the music business, rapping, or hip-hop now, or really what appears to be anytime in the near future.

In fact, it was recently announced that the “What’s My Name,” “Gin and Juice,” and “Drop” singer will be a “Mega Mentor” on the NBC singing competition, “The Voice.”

Snoop Dogg and ‘The Voice’

Snoop Dogg will join alongside Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, John Legend, and Blake Shelton on the current season 20 of “The Voice.”

Kelly Clarkson tweeted, “I can’t wait for this!!!! My team is going to freak out!” in response to the announcement.

According to Deadline, the rapper and producer will be helping to mentor all the artists on each team that has successfully survived the Battle Rounds. Each contestant is now gearing up for the next phase of “The Voice,” the Knockouts.

During his career so far, Snoop Dogg has released 19 studio albums and has sold over 40 million records. He has 20 Grammy nominations and a slew of No.1 hits. Snoop Dogg has also appeared in several movies like “Dolemite Is My Name,” “Beach Bum,” “Pitch Perfect 2,” and “Training Day.”

As a truly original artist since the early ’90s, Snoop will surely drop some wisdom and advice for the artists. He will help them craft the song they selected for the Knockout round. Then the contestant’s judge will decide which contestant moves on. Each judge has one steal for this round of “The Voice.”

The Four-Way Knockout is also part of ‘The Voice” this season. This is where the four contestants saved by the judges during Battle Rounds will all compete together. America chooses that winner, not the judges.

Some past Mega Mentors on the show have been Usher, James Taylor, and Taylor Swift, amongst others.

Snoop Dogg Career Ventures

Snoop Dogg has often stepped off his rapping pedestal and has taken on different business ventures. “The Voice” will show his talent as a musician and mentor. However, he also has a skateboarding company called Snoop Dogg Board Company, an E-sports league called Gangsta Gaming League, and a website called Merry Jane that produces news on cannabis.

He also founded a firm called Casa Verde Capital that invests in cannabis startups. One of his most interesting ventures was with “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.”

His net worth ($135 million) comes from a lot more than just a career in rapping and producing.

According to a press release on PR Newswire, Snoop Dogg’s latest venture is into the world of cryptocurrency. The site called Crypto.com announced Snoop Dogg’s first NFT collection called “A Journey with the Dogg.”

There will be eight pieces and Snoop Dogge Coins available when the collection drops tomorrow. Fans can then also look forward to him on “The Voice” next week.
