‘The Voice’ Contestant Lana Scott Crushes Gabby Barrett’s ‘I Hope’ During Top 11 Performances

Viewers of The Voice got to hear a great cover of Gabby Barrett’s I Hope. None other than Lana Scott took on the heartbreak song and delivered.

Every time Scott takes the stage, you see the potential from the start. She has the look, the sound, and the intensity to be successful in country music. Blake Shelton has a strong singer here and this latest performance was yet another example of why she has made it this far. It is going to take something major to get her out of the competition. Listen to the performance that got rival coach Kelly Clarkson out of her chair and clapping along.

Now, Team Blake has Wendy Moten and she has been fantastic in this competition. But they have a real 1-2 punch with Scott right there. Her performances just keep getting better and she picks songs that are working to her strengths. She goes from her quiet, calm verses to big and bold choruses. The upper end of her registry and volume are put on display and even some small technical moments where she got to show off a bit.

The Top 11 is a big deal. There is nothing guaranteed but after getting a standing ovation from all four coaches and likely the entire live audience it would be hard to imagine Lana Scott going home this week. The Top 11 performances have all been played out and now it is up to America to vote for their favorites. It is not going to be an easy decision and it only gets harder moving forward.

The Voice keeps things going tomorrow and there will be more performances. If Team Ariana or Team Legend lose a contestant, then they will just have one more act left in the competition.

‘The Voice’ Team Kelly and Blake Look Like the Ones to Beat

As we get ready to see the Top 11 cut down on The Voice. Team Kelly has four acts still active and Team Blake has three. So, just by the numbers, it looks like they are in a better position than the other two teams. When you look at the singers on their rosters, it makes a lot of sense that they are the favorites.

Kelly Clarkson has Jeremy Rosado as well as Girl Named Tom. Of course, Gymani came back from the brink of elimination last week. Hailey Mia has held her own as well. Those are four strong acts that could all advance.

Team Blake’s combo of Wendy Moten and Lana Scott is just so strong. There could be a battle between the two in the future if they advance far enough. It is just so great to see their performances week in and week out and they keep bringing their A-game. Chills, every time.
