‘The Voice’: Here’s Who Blake Shelton Considers His Favorite All-Time Contestant

Blake Shelton is the longest-standing judge on The Voice. As the only Judge to have been around since the beginning, he’s seen his fair share of contestants, but he does have a favorite. Blake has coached seven separate contestants into the winning spot.

For Shelton, his personal favorite is RaeLynn, a contestant he grew incredibly close with over the course of The Voice. RaeLynn has described her mentor as like a “father” or a “brother” to her. RaeLynn was a contestant on The Voice in season two and was eliminated during the quarterfinals.

“I guess you could say she’s definitely my personal favorite [from ‘The Voice’]. I just feel a bond with her that is unexplainable. She’s a star is what she is. A great friend and a good kid. And I just want to see the best that could possibly happen for her happen,” Shelton told Entertainment Tonight.

RaeLynn is now 27 years old and still performing music and releasing songs. She says that Shelton is still one of her biggest influences.

The Voice is doing well considering it also gained an Emmy Nomination for an Outstanding Competition program. Other shows in the nominations include Nailed It, The Amazing Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race and Top Chef.

It’s not the first time The Voice has had Emmy success. In fact, The Voice won in that category in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

A New Season of ‘The Voice’ Will Premiere this Fall

Thankfully for fans, The Voice will be back soon. Its 21st season will air on Monday, September 20th at 8pm. Nick Jonas may be leaving The Voice as a coach, but none other than pop superstar Ariana Grande. It should bring in major ratings for the show, as grande has a massive amount of fans. She took to Instagram earlier this year to share the news.

“Surprise !!! i am beyond thrilled, honored, excited to be joining @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton next season ~ season 21 of @nbcthevoice !”

While we haven’t gotten to see any of it, the auditions for The Voice have started, and apparently Grande fits right in.

“Ariana was so fun and sweet,” a source told E! News. “She was interacting with the fans so much and was having the cutest moments on and off camera with the coaches. She was so sweet to anyone who came up to her from the production team, as well. Ariana and Kelly Clarkson were taking selfies. It was so cute.”

Shelton, who previously stated he’s ready to compete hard with Grande, is reportedly hilarious with her. According to the source, the two are “so funny together.”

It sounds like season 21 is set up to be quite the show if the judges have anything to say about it. Grande Joins Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson.
