Just how much do The Voice coaches make for their salaries?
Season 21 is approaching and with a new coach, pop star Ariana Grande on the panel. She will be making the big bucks to bring in a younger audience.
“Sources say Ariana is getting a whopping $20 to $25 million dollars for the show, putting her in the same category as Katy Perry on American Idol,” the Naughty But Nice podcast reported.
American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson was an advisor for Season 13. The following season in 2014 she was brought on as a coach. According to Radar, she makes roughly $14 million per season.
John Legend has appeared on the show since Season 16. Stylecaster alleged that he makes between 13 and 14 million dollars per season.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are a package deal. Shelton is the only remaining original coach on the show. Because of their romance and publicity surrounding it they negotiated bonuses. During her first season, 7, she was making $10 million per season. The No Doubt frontwoman was making over $13 million by Season 12. She returned for the seventeenth and nineteenth seasons.
Adam Levine reportedly made the same as Shelton during his sixteen seasons on the reality show. He would have made roughly $13 million.
Past ‘The Voice’ Judges
Alicia Keys was a coach during seasons 11, 12, and 14. Money Nation reported that she made $8 million. The smaller salary was common practice for new judges.
To bring a younger demographic to the show, Miley Cyrus was hired during Season 13 to bring a younger demographic to the viewership. The outlet reported that she made about $13 million each season she was on it.
Outlets reported that Jennifer Hudson made around $20 million for seasons 13 and 15. Pharrell Williams made about $24 million between 2014 and 2016.
Who was the highest-paid coach for the time? Christina Aguilera. According to The Wrap, she started by making $17 million per season. She later allegedly took a pay cut that put her somewhere in the ballpark between $12 and 13 million per season. She was on the show for its first six seasons.
Shakira was featured on Seasons 4 and 6 and she made $24 million between the two seasons.
Usher replaced Cee Lo Green on The Voice and had a salary of $7 million per season.
