Last week we saw the Top 13 on The Voice get cut down to just 11. With the live performances continuing, who is most likely to win? Which coach is going to get their artist to the finish line?
There are a couple of things to consider when thinking about this. Of course, we have to think about history. Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton are the most experienced coaches on the show. Shelton knows how to win this thing and has many times in the past. However, looking at just this season, we’re going to dive a bit deeper than that.
Ten artists were saved by America’s vote last week and then three had to perform for the last spot in the Top 11. Gymani outperformed Shadale and Ryleigh Plank to take the last spot for this week. Her advancing gives Team Kelly the most performers at this stage with four acts. She has Girl Named Tom, Hailey Mia, and Jeremy Rosado. Team Blake has three performers including the great Wendy Moten, Paris Winningham, and Lana Scott.
As for Team Legend and Team Ariana, they have two acts apiece. The former has Jershika Maple and Joshua Vacanti on his team. Then Grande has Jim and Sasha Allen as well as Holly Forbes. The Voice is all about staying out of the elimination group and surviving as long as you can. Anyone could have a bad performance.
Team Legend and Team Ariana both have great artists. Jershika Maple has been nothing but great. That applies to Jim and Sasha Allen as well. However, I don’t see those teams winning The Voice. This is going to come down to Kelly and Blake.
‘The Voice’ Battle Between Team Kelly and Team Blake
If I had to bet money on it, I would say that the winning act is coming from one of these two teams. Team Kelly and Team Blake have great coaches and have performed above the rest. Girl Named Tom is a seriously great trio that could make the finals. Jeremy Rosado is an R&B star waiting to happen. He has the look and sound and should be a favorite to win The Voice as well.
However, if you have watched this season you know there are some heavy hitters on Team Blake as well. He has the competition’s only country music act left with Lana Scott. Paris Winningham has been solid. But, it is Wendy Moten who is the odds-on favorite to win the whole thing.
This entire season of The Voice has been fun. There is a big shift in the atmosphere when Moten takes the stage. Seriously, this is the most excited Blake Shelton has ever been about an artist. There is a big reason for that. I fully expect Blake and Wendy to be celebrating at the end of this season.
