After yesterday’s electric performances, The Voice contestants found out if what they did on stage was enough to push them into the Top 8. As a part of “Challenge Week,” the vocalists chose songs and artists out of their wheelhouses, and for some, the result was a perfectly blended cover. Unfortunately, for two contestants, their songs just weren’t as powerful, and their journey on the show came to a close.

Here were the remaining Top 10 The Voice contestants:

Ariana: Holly Forbes, Jim & Sasha Allen
Kelly: Girl Named Tom, Jeremy Rosada, Hailey Mia
Blake: Wendy Moten, Lana Scott, Paris Winningham
Legend: Joshua Vicanti, Jershika Maple

The first The Voice Top 8 contestant ended up being Paris Winningham from Team Blake who was Shelton’s steal from Team Legend several weeks ago. Yesterday, Winningham performed Lonestar’s “Amazed” and earned a sparkling review from his coach. Next was Team Ariana’s father-son duo, Jim & Sasha Allen, who sang  “Stay” by Rihanna & Mikky Ekko for Challenge Week.

Following the duo was a trio from Team Kelly. Girl Named Tom performed a rendition of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” yesterday. Like Winningham, The Voice trio amazed their coach and the audience with their performance. Afterwards, Team Blake discovered they would get to keep another contestant, Wendy Moten. During her performance yesterday, Moten sang Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”

Next, Team Legend earned its first Top 8 contestant with The Voice vocalist Joshua Vicanti who took “creative risks during his performance of “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys. Following Vicanti was Team Blake’s Lana Scott who sang a countrified version of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away.” Finally, the seventh contestant to make it through was Team Kelly’s Hailey Mia after her cover of Casey Ballerini’s “Peter Pan.”

‘The Voice’ Reveals Result of the Instant Save Vote

If you’re keeping track of the remaining The Voice contestants, that leaves Team Ariana’s Holly Forbes, Team Legend’s Jershika Maple and Team Kelly’s Jeremy Rosada.

While all three were incredible vocalists, their performances this week just didn’t resonate as well for the audience of their coaches. So, in their Instant Save covers, The Voice contestants helped fans remember just how much talent they have. Rosada decided to perform “What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flatts. Meanwhile, Forbes sang Kelly Clarkson’s “Because of You,” and Maple took on “What Is Love” by Haddaway.

During the voting, Shelton shared just how hard this part of the competition was.

“You know, man, it’s hard to put together reasoning that makes sense of why people are in the bottom three because… you’re all so talented, but it just is what it is at this point,” The Voice coach said.

And the Instant Save goes to…

In the end, The Voice coaches were left with the following contestants:

Ariana: Jim & Sasha Allen
Kelly: Girl Named Tom, Hailey Mia
Blake: Wendy Moten, Lana Scott, Paris Winningham
Legend: Joshua Vicanti, Jershika Maple
