Will Nick Jonas return to The Voice after his recent hospitalization?
TMZ reported that he was injured on set on Saturday night while filming a new episode.
“We’re told Nick was on set when something happened — the sources would not disclose the nature of the accident or injury — but it was serious enough that he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” the outlet noted.
Insiders told the outlet that by Sunday night, Nick Jonas was home and will be present for the Monday episode of The Voice.
The singing competition show is in Season 20. The next episode is the second week of the live shows. His team members Dana Monique and Rachel Mac are still in the running. Meanwhile, Team Blake Shelton contestants Cam Anthony and Jordan Matthew Young are still in the competition. John Legend’s contestants Pia Renee and Victor Solomon are still in it. Finally, Team Kelly Clarkson’s Corey Ward, Kenzie Wheeler, and Gihanna Zoe are still competing.
Nick Jonas’ Time on ‘The Voice’
Nick Jonas joined the hit competition show during Season 18. His contestant Thunderstorm Artis reached the finals. He came back for Season 20 of the show following Gwen Stefani’s exit. This will be Jonas’ final season as Ariana Grande is taking his place for Season 21.
“I mean, Ariana, as we all know, is one of the best singers in the game,” he told Kelly Clarkson on her show. He gave some advice for the newcomer, “And she’s gonna be an incredible coach. I think the only advice I would give is just not to trust any one of you.”
A source told Page Six that Nick Jonas is not leaving the show permanently. Often, coaches return when one coach has a prior career obligation. The cast is ever rotating.
“He isn’t leaving for good,” the source said. “Nick will remain on rotation with other stars that have appeared on the show. The chances are he will be back soon.”
Surprisingly, NBC will only be airing a single season next year. Typically, the show has two seasons per year. This will be the first time in the show’s history.
The Voice episodes air on NBC at 8 pm et on Mondays. Week 2 live shows begin tonight!
