During her long acting career, “The Waltons” actress Judy Norton experienced a few dangerous moments while working in theater.

During a recent installment of her video series, “Behind the Scenes of ‘The Waltons,” Norton, who is now 63 years old, detailed some of the dangerous moments she experienced on theater sets through the years. One worrisome event involved fire and the actress was lucky that she didn’t sustain burns from this incident.

“I was doing a production of ‘Cinderella’ and there was a fireplace. And, you know, because of the magic involved and the fairy godmother, there was a point where I was supposed to go over to start a fire in the fireplace to make her a cup of tea or something. As I got close to the fire, like, it was supposed to sort of light,” “The Waltons” star recalled.

The fire did light. However, it actually flamed up way too much. It almost injured Judy Norton in the process. “Well, they put too much in one night and it sort of exploded in my face. Little things, not seriously, but like stuff flew out in my eyes. So again, my eyes are watering and I was like, ‘Okay, that was like a little potentially dangerous.'” Norton also shared.

‘The Waltons’ Star Judy Norton Had Another Interesting Experience On Stage During ‘Cinderella’

There was another mishap on stage during “Cinderella” for Judy Norton. Fortunately, this incident wasn’t a dangerous one.

“Another night during that show – there was this big, huge, wooden pumpkin – so when things are supposed to change from the pumpkin to the carriage, there was this pumpkin I was supposed to hold. Then, when (the fairy godmother) does her magic, they fly it out and this carriage comes down,” she recalled.

Things began to go wrong when the pumpkin was supposed to be pulled above the stage. “Well, one night – I don’t know what was going on – but the pumpkin got pulled up to a point where it was directly in front of my face and I’m singing a song. … So, I stood back there singing my song hidden completely by this pumpkin. …” Norton also shared.

It was during a production of another popular musical that “The Waltons” actress was injured. “I have been hit in the face. I got hit by a dancer one time in ‘Annie Get Your Gun,'” she recalled.

“Being struck in the face was an accident. But it was still painful, Norton shared. “I was sitting on the floor, you know, while this dance went on and somebody came by and swung an arm and bashed me in the eye. You just keep going. My eye is totally watering and running,” “The Waltons” actress explained.
