‘The Wonder Years’ Reboot Trailer Released by ABC: Watch

A reboot of The Wonder Years is coming to ABC and the network just dropped the first teaser. Don Cheadle Narrate’s the wholesome trailer. Furthermore, the star will narrate the entire reboot. The trailer, which is set to the original show’s theme song, finds Cheadle reminiscing over his childhood.

“It’s the little things that you remember all your life,” he says. “Your first hit, your first kiss, the first time your dad lets you know that he sees you… well, I still hadn’t had the other two, but, boy, did that third one feel good!”

The original wonder years centered around a boy named Kevin in a fictional “Anytown.” The storytelling is driven by the narration of his adult self as he recounts his childhood. The show, which aired in the late 80s and early 90s, was set in the turbulent late 60s.

The reboot holds a lot of refreshing similarities that’ll feel nostalgic for the fans of the original. However, it also provides a new perspective. According to the official description of the show, the re-boot is “a coming of age story set in the late 1960s that takes a nostalgic look at a black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama through the point-of-view of imaginative 12-year-old Dean. With the wisdom of his adult years, Dean’s hopeful and humorous recollections show how his family found their wonder years’ in a turbulent time.”

‘The Wonder Years’ Reboot Has an Impressive Cast and Crew

Elisha Williams will star as a young dean Williams while Dulé Hill will play Bill Williams. Saycon Sengbloh will play Dean’s mother, Lillian. Fred Savage, who starred in the original run of The Wonder Years, is an executive producer and director for the show. Lee Daniels is also an executive producer.

Dulé hill may be most recognizable for his leading role on the show Psych. Saycon Sengbloh is a Tony award-winning actress. Her work on the big screen includes roles in Scandal, Respect, and In the Dark. Elisha Williams, the lead, has been on multiple kid’s television programs.

ABC also released teasers for three other shows, Abbot Elementary, Maggie, and Queens. Each show is vastly different from one another, with comedy, drama, and romance all in the lineup.

The Wonder Years reboot is a part of a promising 2021-2022 programming for ABC. The show will join ABC’s competitive lineup that features many hits including The Goldbergs, Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, Big Sky, The Conners, and A Million Little Things.
