‘Three’s Company’ Star Suzanne Somers Lists Incredible California Mansion on Market: Take a Tour of the Home

Thanks to shows like “Step By Step” and “Three’s Company,” Suzanne Somers went on to build quite an empire, allowing her to own multiple homes. Among them is her gorgeous Palm Springs residence, which Somers and her husband, Alan Hamel, listed and recently sold for 8.5 million.

Somers listed the home in January after owning the house for over 40 years with her husband. After deciding to sell, they recruited the help of real estate agent Josh Flagg and his husband Bobby Boyd. Both Flagg and Boyd are stars of Bravo’s hit show, “Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles.”

According to the listing, the 74-year-old’s 7-bed house is “one of the most prolific estates in the Mesa neighborhood.” It also features four villas on the property.

The main home includes a private patio, outdoor shower, dressing area, his-and-hers closets, two home offices, and a safe room. The guest suite comprises of natural rock walls and authentic architectural elements, according to the listing.

One of the property’s most unique amenities is the funicular. It’s a tram that operates on a hillside track that people can use to access the home.

In one villa, guests are treated to an open living room, chef’s kitchen and butler’s pantry, a secret 2,000+ bottle wine cellar, and a formal dining room with a fireplace and wet bar that can seat up to 32 people.

Another villa features a two-room suite with glass walls, a fireplace, hand-carved garden doors. It also has a claw-foot tub, a rock shower, and a meditation garden. The property also has a swimming pool and a heated in-ground private waterfall.

Somers and Hamel bought the estate in 1977, at the height of Suzanne Somers’ stardom. They retreated to the California desert as an escape from the paparazzi, according to People. “The layout of our home is unique,” Somers said. “It’s a great home for having guests because they can each go off to their own cottages at the end of the day and have privacy.”

Although the house is now in escrow, the couple will remain there until their new home is ready. It’s currently under construction.

“We’re using this new construction as a new opportunity [to make] everything as green as possible,” Hamel told the New York Post. “Even though I am not one of those ‘greeniacs,’ we’re making sure the air quality is balanced and perfect, and even the drywall doesn’t have all those chemicals.”
